Ford Motor Co. has filed a new safety recall report with NHTSA, correcting the supplier information for a defective canister purge valve that resulted in a recall of nearly 1.3 million Ford Focus vehicles in the U.S. In the report, filed on Tuesday, Robert Bosch, of Germany, is listed as the supplier of the part, from its plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Global fuel systems supplier TI Automotive was listed as the supplier in the original filing Oct 24. "The decision to make any comments regarding a recall, as well as the responsibility for them, lies with the automaker concerned, " a Bosch spokesman wrote in an email to Automotive News.A Ford spokeswoman wrote in an email: "It is not our practice to discuss supplier involvement in recalls with the media."
